Hakkloa is a quiet lake tucked deep inside the Nordmarka forest north of Oslo, offering a pristine wilderness feel that is rare so close to a major city. The surrounding pine and birch forest reflects beautifully in the calm water, and the shoreline gives you plenty of spots to compose shots with trees framing the lake and leading the eye toward the far shore. Early morning is the best time to visit, when mist often sits on the surface and the light is soft and diffused; golden hour in summer can also produce warm tones that contrast well against the cool greens of the forest. Bring a wide angle for sweeping landscape shots or a longer focal length to isolate reflections and details along the water's edge. The trail in requires a moderate hike, so wear sturdy shoes and give yourself extra time before sunrise. (Oslo Municipality, Norway)
