The Oslo Opera House sits at the edge of the Oslofjord, its sloping marble and granite surfaces descending directly into the water, creating one of the most distinctive architectural forms in Scandinavia. The building is designed to be walked on, so you can climb the angled roof all the way to the top for elevated views across the fjord and city skyline. From ground level, shooting low and wide emphasizes the way the white surfaces appear to emerge from the water, especially effective with a 16-35mm lens. The reflections along the waterline on calm days add strong symmetry to your compositions. Blue hour and golden hour both work well here; sunrise brings soft light from the east that catches the marble beautifully, while evening light warms the white facade. The surrounding plaza gives you plenty of room to experiment with angles, and the building is easily accessible year-round. (Oslo, Norway)
