HMQS Gayundah has had an interesting life, originally built for the protection of the Queensland coastline, then after Federation it was used as a training ship and then refitted to act as a guard-ship and patrol vessel during World War 1. In 1958 the local town council bouught the Gayundah and beached her in her current location to serve as a breakwater. (Woody Point, Queensland, Australia)
