Hohlohturm
The Hohlohturm sits 984 meters above sea level tucked away in the middle of a lush forest and nature reserve. The original tower from 1856 was made of wood and only 15 meters high. The new tower was built in 1887 of stone and was incresed to 20 meters high. It was expanded in 1968 because of the taller trees and today measures 28.6 meters. The forest grows naturally around the tower but the view from the tower is clear in all directions. Those who climb the tower are rewarded with a magnificent view over the Murgtal, the Black Forest and, if the visibility is good, as far as the Vosges in France or the Alps. (Gernsbach, Germany)
