Ikjefjordsbrua is an amazing hidden gem tucked away in western Norway. This slim concrete bridge curves as it rises up to cross a narrow arm of the Sognefjord in a picture perfect setting. The dark fjord water, steep forested slopes, and mountains tucked away in the background all work amazingly with the clean curve of the bridge. This whole area is well off the main tourist routes, so you will usually have the spot to yourself to explore and experiment with. The best angle is from above, especially by drone, where the bridge and the curving road line up into one long S that leads through the frame. Overcast light works well here and brings out the colour of the water, plus a calm morning gives you reflections of the piers and the little island. It does take a bit of planning to get here since you first need to take the Lavik to Oppedal ferry across the Sognefjord, then follow the winding a county road (Fv8). There is a fee for the ferry crossing but this whole area is quite photogenic and worth taking a day to explore. (Ikjefjord, Vestland, Norway)
