Huldefossen is one of Norway's tallest free-falling waterfalls, dropping roughly 90 meters in a single dramatic plunge that makes it a compelling subject from multiple distances. You can shoot from the base to emphasize the sheer scale, using a wide-angle lens to include the surrounding cliff faces and vegetation, or pull back for a more compressed view with a short telephoto. The lush green hillside frames the white cascade beautifully, especially in late spring and early summer when snowmelt pushes the flow to its peak volume. Overcast days are ideal here, as they soften contrast and let you use longer shutter speeds to create silky water texture without blowing out the highlights. A tripod and polarizing filter will serve you well. The waterfall is accessible from a short trail near Jølster, and the path brings you close enough to feel the spray. (Jølster, Vestland, Norway)
