Infinity Bridge

The Infinity Bridge is a striking pedestrian and cycle crossing over the River Tees, where two asymmetrical steel arches reflect in the water below to form a perfect infinity symbol. That reflection is the shot you are here for, so calm water is your best friend; early mornings on still days give you the cleanest mirror image with soft, even light. Position yourself on the riverbank downstream from the bridge to capture both arches and their reflection in one frame, a wide angle lens in the 16-24mm range works well here. After dark, the built-in blue and white LED lighting transforms the bridge into a long-exposure subject, with light trails rippling across the water. The surrounding riverbanks are flat and open, making access easy, and you can walk onto the bridge itself to shoot leading-line perspectives along the illuminated handrail.
