Klettar Tower
Klettar Tower rises dramatically from the flat farmland of southern Iceland, a striking cylindrical stone structure that looks almost otherworldly against the expansive sky. The tower's vertical lines and rough texture make it a strong graphic subject, and you can work it from almost any angle since it stands free of obstructions on all sides. Wide shots with a 24mm or wider lens work well to include the surrounding fields and sky, while getting close and shooting upward emphasizes the tower's height and geometry. Golden hour light here is exceptional, with the low Icelandic sun raking across the stone and casting long shadows across the ground. Early morning often brings mist in the valley, which adds atmosphere. The site sits just outside Flúðir and is easily reached by car; park near the base and walk the perimeter to find your preferred angle. (Klettar, Flúðir, Iceland)
