Bruarfoss is a striking Icelandic waterfall where glacial meltwater rushes through a narrow basalt channel, producing an intense turquoise blue that is almost unreal in photographs. The upper falls are the most dramatic, with water fanning out across a wide rocky lip before dropping into a vivid blue pool. Get low and close to the water's edge to emphasize the color and the layered rock formations, and use a wide angle lens to capture the full spread of the cascade. A polarizing filter helps cut glare and deepen that signature blue. Overcast days work better than bright sun here, as even light brings out the color without harsh shadows. The hike from the official parking area takes around 45 minutes each way on a clear trail; wear waterproof boots as the ground near the falls stays wet. (Brekkuskógur, Iceland)
