Lac de Pormenaz
In the heart of Passy National Nature Reserve, the Lac de Pormenaz, overlooked by the imposing eponymous Pointe Noire and Rochers des Fiz, is a must-see summer outing. The hike into this shooting gem is quite long (13.5km round trip), but the views are well worth the effort. The hike starts with a slow climb, but there is a steep section with steel cables & ladders. (You can avoid this tricky part by choosing another way, but it takes around 30mn longer to reach the lake.) The scenery is epic all along the hike, and the pristine area is full of local wildlife.
