What remains of the once common Laurel forests. These spectacular forests are now confined to the Azores, Madeira and the Canary Islands. This is the largest of what remains. It is believed to be approx. 90% primary (original) Laurel Forest. There are lots of different ways to access it but it can be easily combined with a Levada walk on Madeira.
