Lower Diabaig View
Lower Diabaig is a remote crofting village on the western shore of Loch Torridon, where a small stone pier and handful of whitewashed cottages sit beneath dramatic hillsides that drop sharply to the water. The scene is compact and intimate, with the pier acting as a natural leading line drawing the eye toward the loch and the mountains beyond. You can shoot from the shoreline looking back toward the village for a classic Highland composition, or get low on the rocks at the water's edge to include foreground texture and reflections. Overcast days often give you the most even, moody light, though golden hour on a clear evening can illuminate the Torridon peaks beautifully. A wide to standard zoom works well here. The single-track road into Diabaig is narrow and the village is genuinely off the beaten path, so plan your route carefully and allow extra driving time.
