About Luang Prabang Kitchen
Luang Prabang Kitchen is one of the oldest mansions in Luang Prabang. It was built in 1854 with traditional Lao architecture pattern featuring a pitch roof, timber structure and cowhide-leather cobwork covered with lime motar. Most of the woodwork and columns are made of a rosewood called Mey Paw. The house is currently protected by UNESCO as an important cultural relic. The house was initially built by Mr. Soudalod, a Laotian rhitozomist. He started a Laotian herb medicine shop here and cured many local residents. Since then the local people believed the house was a blessed lucky building. (Luang Prabang, Laos)
