This wide pedestrian bridge spans 511 feet over the Mohawk River, giving you an elevated platform above the water with unobstructed views in both directions along the river valley. Walk to the center of the bridge and shoot lengthwise down the Mohawk for strong leading lines, or turn perpendicular to capture the river bending through the surrounding hills and tree cover. The bridge's width gives you room to set up without blocking foot traffic, and the railing height is manageable for shooting over. Golden hour light in the morning catches the eastern stretch of the river well, while late afternoon brings warm tones across the valley looking west. A wide angle lens works well for the sweeping valley compositions, though a short telephoto lets you compress the hills in the background.
