The Niagara Apothecary Museum is a beautifully preserved 19th-century pharmacy on Queen Street in Niagara-on-the-Lake, with a striking Italianate storefront and an interior packed with original wooden fixtures, glass apothecary jars, and antique medical equipment. Outside, the white facade with its period signage photographs well as part of the historic streetscape, especially when framed with neighboring heritage buildings for context. Inside, the warm wood tones, curved counters, and rows of colorful bottles create rich detail shots; a 50mm or 85mm lens handles the tight interior well. Natural light from the front windows is soft and directional, so aim for overcast days or morning hours before direct sun causes harsh contrast. Ask about interior access at the door, as hours can be limited. Shooting from a low angle emphasizes the depth of the shelving, while close-up details of the labeled jars reward a macro approach.
