Installed directly in the waters of the Oslofjord just off the Opera House, this stainless steel and glass sculpture by Monica Bonvicini floats and rotates slowly with the tide and wind, making it endlessly variable as a subject. The reflective surfaces catch light differently throughout the day, so no two visits look quite the same. Shoot from the Opera House's sloping marble roof for an elevated perspective that places the sculpture against the fjord and city skyline, or get low along the waterfront promenade to isolate it against the water. Early morning gives you soft, even light and calm reflections, while golden hour adds warm tones to the glass panels. A telephoto lens in the 70-200mm range lets you compress the sculpture against the background effectively. The area is fully accessible and easy to walk around for multiple angles. (Oslo, Norway)
