The wide river spreads out before you with forested shoreline on the far bank, creating a classic mirror-like reflection on calm evenings. Sunset is the main event here, with golden and pink light stretching across the water for an extended window in midsummer, often lasting well into the evening. Shoot from the roadside looking west or southwest to capture the full width of the river, and bring a mid-range zoom in the 24-70mm range to balance foreground water texture with the distant treeline. Keep in mind the surrounding land is privately owned, so stay on the public road and be considerate of residents nearby. A tripod is essential for the low-light conditions as the sun drops.
