Pak Ou Caves are filled with hundreds of miniature Buddha sculptures. They take many different positions, including meditation, teaching, peace, rain, and reclining (nirvana). They are a pair of caves along the west side of the Mekong river, about an hour upstream from the centre of Luang Prabang. The view as you approach from along the river is also quite photogenic. The caves are most easily accessible by taking one of the river cruises. (Pak Ou, Laos)
