Paratahi Island is a large sea stack sitting just off shore of Karekare Beach. This black sand beach is surrounded by a beautiful landscape of mountainous terrain. The beach is a short walk down stream from Karekare Falls, although you may have to cross through knee depth water to reach the beach. (Karekare, New Zealand)
