The Pepsi-Cola sign is a beloved piece of New York history, a massive neon relic from the 1930s that sits along the East River waterfront in Gantry Plaza State Park, offering a striking contrast between vintage Americana and the Manhattan skyline rising directly across the water. Shoot from the waterfront promenade to frame the sign against the midtown skyline, using a wide angle lens to capture both the sign and the city behind it, or zoom in tighter to isolate the lettering with skyscrapers stacked in the background. Blue hour and dusk are the best times to visit, when the neon glows against a deep blue sky and the city lights begin to flicker on. The park is easy to reach via the 7 train and is open late, giving you plenty of time to work different angles along the railing. (Long Island City, New York, United States)
