Playa de Las Teresitas is a large beach located just north of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the village of San Andrés. Unlike most natural beaches on the island, its golden sand was imported from the Sahara in the 1970s to create a more accessible shoreline. A long breakwater sits offshore, helping keep the water calm compared to other parts of Tenerife’s coast. The beach stretches in a wide arc, backed by palm trees and the steep, rugged slopes of the Anaga mountains, which add a strong backdrop to the scene. On the north end of the beach, a roadside overlook just off TF-121 provides an elevated view looking down across the full curve of the shoreline. The combination of soft sand, sheltered water, and mountainous surroundings creates a variety of simple compositions from different points along the shore. Easy access, nearby parking, and its proximity to the city make it a popular and convenient coastal stop. (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain)
