Pont Adolphe
Pont Adolphe is a grand stone arch bridge completed in 1903, spanning the Pétrusse valley with two sweeping arches that frame the city below in a way few structures can match. From street level on either side of the bridge, you can shoot through the arches toward the old town or the valley gardens, using the curves as natural frames; a wide angle lens in the 16-24mm range works well here. The lower pedestrian deck, added in 2018, puts you directly inside the archways for dramatic upward shots and unique perspectives looking out over the valley. Golden hour light in the late afternoon warms the cream-colored stone beautifully, and overcast days help manage contrast in the shadowed arch interiors. The bridge is easy to reach on foot from the city center, and the valley pathways below give you a strong low angle for capturing the full scale of the structure.
