Reighton Sands
Reighton Sands is a vast expanse of flat sands that are exposed at low tide and the spectacular views of the cliffs that run along the coastline. This stretch of beach was used as military defensive position in WWII, so the sands are dotted with the remains of hastily prepared invasion defences. Plus the Bempton Cliffs Nature Reserve can be found to the east of the beach, and the cliff-top walk here offers excellent views as well as the opportunity to see many species of birds, and occasionally even whales and dolphins out in the surf.
