Ringebu Stavkirke is a medieval stave church dating to around 1220, made visually distinctive by the tall red wooden tower added during 17th century renovations. The contrast between the dark, weathered timber of the original structure and the bold red tower gives you a strong graphic subject to work with against the surrounding hills and farmland. Shoot from the lower grounds to use the cemetery's flower-planted graves as foreground interest, leading the eye toward the church. A 24-35mm lens works well to capture the full scene including the tower and landscape context, while a longer focal length lets you compress the hills behind. Overcast days soften the light and bring out the richness of the red and dark timber tones; early morning also rewards you with quieter grounds and low-angled light. The site is well maintained and easy to walk around, giving you full access to multiple angles. (Ringebu, Innlandet, Norway)
