Rockbound Lake

Rockbound Lake is stunning mountain lake with deep turquoise colours and aptly named - surrounded by giant boulders and sheer limestone cliffs on all sides. It is best in late-spring and summer, as snow stays late into the season and can make the trail very tricky. You can walk around the lake in all directions, but if you continue on the right side and ascend the at the back of the lake, the trail leads 2.5 kilometers away to a great vantage point above the lake. On the way to Rockbound Lake you will pass through lush forest, scenic wildflower meadows and the equally photogenic Tower Lake. (Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada)
