Roy Thomson Hall is a striking concert venue in downtown Toronto, its curved glass and steel facade creating a luminous, layered subject after dark. The building's undulating exterior reflects light beautifully at night, when the illuminated glass panels glow from within and the surrounding plaza offers clean lines and minimal distractions. Shoot from street level on Simcoe Street or King Street West to capture the full sweep of the curved facade, or move in close to isolate the geometric patterns of the glass and structural ribs. A wide angle lens works well for full building shots, while a mid-range zoom lets you compress the reflections and surrounding architecture. Blue hour is the sweet spot here, giving you enough ambient sky to balance the building's artificial glow without losing detail. The plaza is publicly accessible and flat, making tripod setup straightforward. (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
