The Toronto Skywalk is a covered pedestrian corridor connecting Union Station to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, lined with a series of geometric skylights that cast dramatic natural light onto the walkway below. The repeating rectangular frames of the ceiling create strong leading lines that draw the eye toward the vanishing point, making a wide angle lens, something in the 16-24mm range, ideal for compressing the perspective and exaggerating the depth. Position yourself low and centered in the corridor to maximize the symmetry, or shift to one side to add a dynamic diagonal feel. Midday on a sunny day gives you the most defined light shafts and contrast through the skylights, though overcast light produces an even glow that reveals the architectural details cleanly. The walkway is sheltered and climate controlled, so it is accessible year-round regardless of weather, and foot traffic is lightest on weekend mornings. (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
