Saint Mina's Orthodox Church is a classic Cycladic whitewashed chapel tucked into the lanes of Fira, with a smooth curved dome, simple cross, and clean architectural lines that make it ideal for minimalist compositions. The bright white walls contrast beautifully against the deep blue of the Aegean sky, and the surrounding rooftops and caldera views give you layering options beyond just the church itself. Shoot from a low angle looking up to emphasize the dome against the sky, or step back to include the surrounding architecture for context and depth. A wide to standard focal length works well here, around 24mm to 50mm. Early morning is your best window, when the light is soft, the streets are quiet, and the shadows are long; midday sun creates harsh contrast but can also produce striking blue and white abstracts.
