Rising up to 90 meters above Lake Ontario, these dramatic white and tan clay bluffs stretch along Toronto's eastern shoreline and offer a rare combination of geological scale and waterfront light. From the beach below, you can shoot upward to emphasize the towering cliff faces, especially where erosion has carved layered textures into the surface. A wide angle lens works well here to capture the full height of the bluffs against the sky, while a telephoto lets you isolate interesting geological details. Sunrise is the standout time to visit: climb to Scarboro Crescent Park at the bluff top for elevated views east over the lake as warm light hits the cliff faces. Later in the day, the beach level gives you reflections in the shallow water and the bluffs as a dramatic backdrop. Paths connect multiple vantage points, so plan to move around and explore.
