Scenic Countryside
This open meadow along Adirondack Loj Road offers a classic Adirondack landscape, with sweeping grassy fields in the foreground and the rounded peaks of the High Peaks region rising behind them. The scene works especially well in early morning when mist often lingers over the field and soft light skims across the grass, adding depth and texture to the foreground. Shoot from the roadside pulling off carefully onto the gravel shoulder, and use a wide angle lens to take in the full expanse of sky, field, and mountains together. A low angle emphasizes the wildflowers or tall grasses when they are present, while a slightly elevated position from the road edge helps separate the peaks from the treeline.
