Siekierkowski Bridge

Siekierkowski Bridge carries the Trasa Siekierkowska expressway across the Vistula River in southern Warsaw. Uniquely the deck hangs from two soaring H-shaped pylons. There's a walkway and a cycling lane on each side, so you can easily get out over the water. From the middle of the span Warsaw's downtown cluster sits about 6 km away (looking to the west-northwest) with the Palace of Culture in the middle of it. The distance smoothes the whole view into one long band of towers. Plus if you are lucky with your timing during part of the year the sun drops right behind them. Down at river level the east bank has a walking path running through the riverside park. From under the bridge you can easily set up to shoot straight up through the cables. Access to the park and base of the bridge is free and ungated, though parking nearby can be tricky, so using a bike or walking the area will be much easier. The river bank path often floods when the Vistula runs high, so waterside photography might not always be accessible. (Warsaw, Masovia, Poland)
