Spindler Beach
Spindler Beach is a quiet, tucked-away stretch of shoreline on the outskirts of Lunenburg, offering unobstructed views across the harbour toward the colourful heritage buildings of Old Town Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The classic waterfront facade photographs beautifully from across the water, and this angle gives you a wider, less crowded perspective than shooting from within town. Try a longer focal length, something in the 70-200mm range, to compress the townscape and stack the colourful buildings together for a strong composition. Low tide exposes more of the foreground shoreline, giving you rocks and texture to anchor your frame. Golden hour light in the late afternoon and early evening wraps warm tones across the painted facades, making that the prime window to shoot. The beach is low-key and rarely busy, so you will have space to work without crowds getting in your way. (Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada)
