Storfjorden Viewpoint
Storfjorden Viewpoint is a roadside pullout in northern Norway that delivers a sweeping look across the fjord toward the dramatic peaks of Horsnesfjellet and Hatten, especially striking when autumn colors coat the hillsides in amber and rust. The wide, open composition practically sets itself up for you: position yourself at the railing with the calm water as a foreground element and let the mountains fill the frame. A wide angle lens works well for capturing the full breadth of the scene, while a short telephoto lets you compress the layers of ridgeline and water for a more graphic look. Overcast days soften the light and bring out the rich fall tones without harsh shadows, but clear mornings with low-angle sun create beautiful reflections on the fjord surface.
