Stunning Mural

This massive Eduardo Kobra mural in the Porto Maravilha district is one of the largest graffiti murals in the world, stretching across an enormous building facade with vivid geometric patterns and colorful portraits celebrating the unity of peoples from five continents. The sheer scale demands a wide-angle lens, but stepping back far enough to capture the full composition can be tricky given the urban surroundings, so look for a vantage point across the street or slightly to one side to reduce distortion. Overcast days work surprisingly well here, as the diffused light brings out the saturated colors without harsh shadows cutting across the faces. Early morning is ideal for avoiding crowds and getting cleaner foreground.
