Susten Pass
Susten Pass is one of Switzerland’s most scenic mountain routes, connecting the cantons of Uri and Bern with sweeping views of the Alps and the Stein Glacier. The winding road climbs through high alpine terrain with countless photo opportunities, from hairpin turns and cascading waterfalls to distant peaks and turquoise glacial lakes. Photographers can capture both dramatic wide-angle landscapes and detailed shots of the rugged terrain. The pass is typically open from June to October and is accessible by car, motorbike, or bicycle. Early morning or late afternoon offers the best light, and there are multiple pull-offs and parking areas for safe photography stops. (Uri/Bern, Switzerland)
