Teufelsbrücke
Teufelsbrücke, or Devil's Bridge, spans the churning Reuss River at the entrance to the Schöllenen Gorge, where dark granite walls close in tightly and the water crashes through a narrow, dramatic channel below. The combination of the historic stone arch, the raw gorge walls, and the violent whitewater makes this one of the most compelling natural and architectural subjects in the Swiss Alps. A wide-angle lens works well here to capture the bridge alongside the surrounding rock faces; try shooting from the lower viewpoint near the riverbank to emphasize the scale of the gorge and the power of the water beneath. The gorge's steep walls mean direct light is limited, making overcast days ideal for even exposure without harsh shadows. Early morning on clear days can bring soft light filtering into the upper gorge. The site is easily accessible from the road between Andermatt and Göschenen, with a short walk down to multiple vantage points along the river. (Andermatt, Uri, Switzerland)
