The A house sits on the shore of Fossfjörður, one of the smaller fjords that branch off Arnarfjörður in the Westfjords. It's an abandoned wooden house, one steep A-frame section joined to a lower rectangular one. The timber has weathered to a soft grey-brown. Behind it, the flat water of the fjord runs out to a big mountain that rises into low cloud. Frame the house small against all that space. The A-frame shape reads clearly from the road, and the rust-coloured autumn grass around it warms up the muted palette. It sits right by the coastal road through the southern fjords, so it's an easy roadside stop. The house is derelict and may be unsafe inside, so shoot the exterior. Easy to find and quick to shoot.
