Two Jack Lake

Two Jack Lake sits just outside the town of Banff and delivers one of the most iconic mountain reflections in the Canadian Rockies, with the jagged ridgeline of Mount Rundle mirrored in calm, glacially fed water. Position yourself along the eastern shoreline to frame the mountain straight ahead, using the lake's surface as a natural mirror; calm mornings before any wind picks up give you the clearest reflections. Sunrise is the prime window here, when soft pink and orange light catches the rock face of Rundle and the water is at its stillest. A wide angle lens in the 16-24mm range works well for capturing both the foreground shoreline and the full sweep of the mountain behind.
