Tyin is a remote high-mountain lake sitting at around 1,000 meters elevation on the edge of Jotunheimen National Park, surrounded by bare Norwegian highlands, rocky shorelines, and sweeping open skies that make it feel genuinely wild. The lake itself is the main subject, with reflections of the surrounding plateau and distant peaks working best on calm mornings when the wind hasn't picked up yet. Position yourself along the rocky water's edge to get low foreground interest, or step back to use the sparse, weather-worn terrain as a frame for the vast landscape behind it. Overcast light softens the scene beautifully and brings out the cool blues and grays of the water and stone. The area is accessible via the E16 highway, so you can pull off and explore without a long hike; a wide-angle lens suits the expansive, open compositions here well. (Tyin, Innlandet, Norway)
