Vancouver Wall Centre
The Wall Centre is a striking curved glass skyscraper in downtown Vancouver, its dark reflective facade and tapered silhouette setting it apart from the surrounding skyline. The building rewards close-up architectural shooting, particularly the way its curved glass panels catch and distort reflections of the sky, neighboring buildings, and passing clouds. Shoot from street level looking directly upward to emphasize the dramatic converging lines as the tower narrows toward the top, or step back to Burrard Street for a wider perspective that places it in context with the cityscape. Overcast days work surprisingly well here, as diffused light reduces harsh glare on the glass and brings out the subtle tonal shifts in the dark facade. A wide angle lens in the 16 to 24mm range is ideal for capturing the full height and curvature. The building is accessible from multiple street corners, giving you flexibility to find your angle.
