Victoria Embankment

The Victoria Embankment stretches along the north bank of the Thames, giving you a long, open riverside walkway with some of London's most iconic sights lined up within close range of each other. The London Eye sits directly across the river and is the natural anchor for compositions here, best framed from the embankment wall with the Thames in the foreground to add depth and reflection. Shoot looking southeast and you can bring in Hungerford Bridge as a leading line toward the Eye, or turn northeast for views toward the City skyline. Golden hour light in the morning hits the south bank beautifully, while blue hour after sunset is ideal for long exposures that smooth out the river and light up the Eye's capsules. A wide angle lens between 16mm and 24mm works well for capturing the sweep of the river, and the low embankment wall makes a useful foreground element. (London, England, United Kingdom)
