Built between 1728 and 1733 by the Zimmermann brothers, this Baroque pilgrimage church is widely regarded as the most beautiful village church in the world, and once you step inside, the claim feels justified. The interior is the real prize, with an explosion of frescoes, gilded stucco, painted columns, and carved angels covering nearly every surface of the oval nave. Shoot from the main entrance looking toward the altar to capture the full depth of the space, then work the side aisles for tighter compositions of individual details. A wide-angle lens in the 16-24mm range works well for the interior, while a longer focal length lets you isolate ornamental flourishes. Midday light through the tall windows illuminates the ceiling frescoes evenly, making it a rare case where noon shooting pays off. Arrive early on weekdays to avoid tour groups, and check mass times before visiting to ensure access. (Bad Schussenried, Baden-Württemberg, Germany)
