Willow Flats is an open marshy meadow stretching toward the Teton Range in Grand Teton National Park, offering one of the most iconic and unobstructed views of Mount Moran and its distinctive Skillet Glacier. The elevated overlook at Jackson Lake Lodge gives you a wide, sweeping perspective across the flats, making it ideal for wide-angle lenses in the 16-35mm range to capture both the foreground wetlands and the dramatic peaks behind. Look for moose wading through the willows and ponds, which add compelling foreground interest and a sense of scale. Sunrise and early morning are exceptional here, when soft alpenglow hits Mount Moran and mist often hangs low over the meadow. The overlook is easily accessible directly from the lodge, so you can position yourself along the railing or surrounding area to fine-tune your composition without any serious hiking.
