This soaring glass-and-steel pavilion at Brookfield Place is one of Lower Manhattan's most dramatic interior spaces, with a barrel-vaulted ceiling rising ten stories above a marble-floored hall lined with towering palm trees. The combination of natural light pouring through the glass canopy, the geometric steel framework, and the organic shapes of the palms gives you a lot to work with in a single frame. Shoot from the central floor looking straight up to emphasize the vault's symmetry, or position yourself at the mezzanine level to capture the full sweep of the space with people below for scale. A wide-angle lens in the 16-24mm range works best here. Midday brings the strongest light through the glass roof, though overcast days reduce harsh contrast and keep the interior evenly lit. The space opens onto the Hudson River esplanade, so you can pair interior shots with waterfront compositions in the same visit. (New York City, New York, United States)
