Banff Pedestrian Bridge
This narrow wooden footbridge spans the Bow River in the heart of Banff, offering one of the most accessible mountain reflections in the Canadian Rockies. The bridge itself makes a strong leading line when shot from water level or from the riverbank, drawing the eye toward the forested slopes and snow-capped peaks behind. Get down low on the bank upstream or downstream to compress the mountains into the background and catch the river's turquoise glacial color in the foreground. Early morning is ideal when the water is calm and mist sometimes rises off the surface, and the soft light avoids the harsh midday shadows that flatten the scene. A wide angle lens works well for capturing the full sweep of bridge, river, and mountains together. The bridge is a short walk from downtown Banff and requires no special access, making it easy to revisit at different times of day. (Banff, Alberta, Canada)
