The Barcelona Supercomputing Center houses MareNostrum, Spain's most powerful supercomputer, inside the Torre Girona chapel, a 19th-century neogothic structure that creates one of the most visually striking contrasts in architectural photography. The combination of ornate stone arches, stained glass windows, and the sleek white server towers glowing beneath them gives you a scene that feels almost cinematic. Shoot from the ground level looking down the central aisle to use the supercomputer towers as a foreground element against the chapel's vaulted ceiling, or work from the upper walkway for a wider overhead perspective that captures the full scale of both the historic architecture and the hardware below. Interior lighting is consistent and relatively warm, so a wide angle lens in the 16 to 24mm range works well. Access requires a pre-booked tour through bsc.es, so plan ahead as slots fill up.
