Cambie St
This stretch of Cambie Street offers one of Vancouver's most layered urban compositions, where you can capture the texture of historic Gastown brick buildings in one direction and a sweeping view of the North Shore mountains, rail yards, and Burrard Inlet in the other. Position yourself in the middle of the street during a quiet moment and use the road itself as a leading line pulling toward the mountains, or turn around to frame the rooftops and architectural detail of the older buildings. A wide angle lens works well here to take in both the street geometry and the mountain backdrop in a single frame. Overcast days soften the contrast and bring out the greens of the mountains, while blue hour adds mood to the industrial foreground. Watch for passing cars and trains to add a sense of life and movement to the scene. (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada)
