Cupid's Span
Cupid's Span is a giant bow-and-arrow sculpture partially buried in the ground along the Embarcadero waterfront, and its oversized scale makes it a striking foreground subject against the San Francisco Bay. The sculpture itself is visually bold from multiple angles, but the most rewarding compositions place it in front of the Bay Bridge, especially when you position yourself to align the arrow tip or the arc of the bow with the bridge span behind it. A wide-angle lens works well for capturing both the full sculpture and the skyline in a single frame, while a longer focal length lets you compress the distance and make the bridge feel closer. Golden hour and blue hour are the strongest times to shoot here, with blue hour giving you a balance of ambient sky light and city reflections on the water. The waterfront path is flat and fully accessible, and you have room to move laterally to fine-tune your framing. (San Francisco, California, United States)
