De Koe Windmill
De Koe in Veere is a traditional Dutch windmill set within the town’s historic ramparts, surrounded by canals, grassy embankments, and tree lined paths. It is a really nice spot to build layered compositions, using the curves of the water, leading lines from the paths, and the raised earthworks to frame the windmill from different angles. You can easily move around the area to find clean views or more complex foregrounds. The setting feels compact but varied, which makes it easy to experiment without needing to go far. Early morning or late afternoon light tends to work best, especially when it adds a bit of depth and softness across the scene. (Veere, Zeeland, Netherlands)
