Dubai Creek Harbour is a modern waterfront development offering some of the most dramatic skyline compositions in the city, with the Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai rising across the water in the distance. The promenade along the creek gives you a long, clean foreground of reflective water, and you can frame the skyline with the creek stretching out as a natural leading line. Shoot from the water's edge at low angles to maximize reflections, or step back to include the promenade itself for a sense of scale and depth. A telephoto lens in the 70-200mm range works well for compressing the skyline, while a wide angle lets you take in the full sweep of the waterfront. Blue hour and golden hour both deliver here, but the period just after sunset, when city lights begin to glow against a deep blue sky, tends to produce the most balanced exposures.
